IMBIL WELCOMES PROUD MARY

Historic steam train Proud Mary has rolled into Imbil, where she will be part of the Imbil Rail Park tourist attraction, after a massive restoration effort.

A convoy of trucks and a crane relocated the C17 class locomotive from Gympie, ahead of the official welcome on Saturday at 3pm.

Imbil Rail Park receives a gift, "Proud Mary" our static display C17 #705 Steam Train tourist attraction!

It was awesome to see the convoy of trucks, low-loaders and a 160 tonne Crane arrive at the Rail Park (opposite the Railway Hotel) to move her to her final resting place.

A special thanks to John Baillie and crew for the massive task of preserving her collectively over 150 hrs of blasting back to bare metal, etch priming and the final 2pack top coat and Trever at Sunshine coast Blasting and Painting for lending us their unit, Kelly Green Crains for the massive 50 tonnes lift we could not have done this without you and the support of Brad Simpson Plant hire, Corbitt transport. Clarry Earth land Group, Steve Hooper family Railway Hotel, Luke at Bush N Beach tree lopping and the generous cash donations from GoFundMe to help make this project come to reality, it has been a pleasure to coordinate this project over the past nine months!
